We learned in July that Android had pulled ahead of RIM’s BlackBerry last quarter, and today there’s the expectation for Android users to download 2 billion more apps than iPhone users by the end of 2011. The quality of the iPhone apps is still heralded, but volume is of course an important story about the insatiable demand for access to anything and everthing via our smartphones.
