I got the idea for www.BoostMyWebTraffic.com last year as I was completing my Masters in Internet Marketing. It was the logical “next step” to channel my combined advertising agency and PR experience, along with 20 years in NY-based corporate marketing roles at both a subsidiary of American Express and at Ernst & Young in Manhattan.
Friends & colleagues kept saying “Linda, you really should to start a consulting practice.” The challenge was where to focus my broad experience. Most consultants concentrate on a narrow niche that’s “a mile deep”. I’m just the opposite, with experience that’s a mile wide.
So what was my next step?
Step back and observe. As I transitioned here from NY, I really ramped up my networking efforts to get established in a new geography. Listening closely to the issues facing my new friends, colleagues and associates from those networking groups gave me the answers.

As they strike out on their own, they create a bare-bones starter website but have too many demands on their time to establish a strong Web presence.
